Efterårets boghøst September 2005 Første digitale astrologiblad September 2005 |
Book harvest this Fall The book treasure of the nation has this month been expanded by two astrological works for children and next month by two books for the student and the serious amateur of astrology. The first digital astrology magazine Maanedsbrevet ASTROLOGI [2002-03] is historical in two ways (at least in Denmark) Primarily by being the first entirely digital magazine, distributed by email and dowloadable from a website. Secondly by being the first FREE magazine on astrology. It was shortlived as it lasted barely six months, but it broke new ground. The museum was donated all archives from the now dissolved Danish Association of Astrologers (Dansk Astrologforening) and is now able to present all issues of this historcal 'digizine' to the public. |

The newest member of our solar system The planet catalogued as 2003UB313 is at the lonely outer fringes of our solar system. The new planet, which is yet to be formally named, is at least as big as Pluto and about three times farther away from the Sun than Pluto. It is very cold and dark. It is now in 21° Aries (tropical). The planet was discovered by the Samuel aOschin Telescope at the Palomar Observatory near San Diego, Calif., on Jan. 8, 2005 by astronomers Mike Brown (Caltech), Chad Trujillo (Gemini Observatory), and David Rabinowitz (Yale University). They discovered Sedna too. |

The Dimple The data base daf-debat contains - apart from the discussions - a larger collection of astrological humour, called SMILEHULLET (The Dimple). Here you will find many kinds of jokes, cartoons, and fun stories illustrating contemporary views on the phenomenon of astrology (mostly in danish, though). In memory of Toni Haugen, emeritus psychiatrist, with a long career dealing with criminals, was a brilliant amateur astrologer as well and passed away June 2005. He pioneered in the research and discussions of astrology as a human science. His data are now included on the museums memorial pages. |

Foreign guests In May our site has had an unusually large number of american guests. Actually they have browsed twice as many pages as our danish visitors. The overall statistics say, that we have well around 2000 unique visitors every month and above 60.000 hits each month, where the museum appears in searches on the internet. Not bad for a small special museum. New debate database The danish asassociation of astrology practitioners - Dansk Astrologforening - owned a online debate forum, called 'The Red Thread' - the 20.000 plus contributions of which has now been preserved as the database daf-debate and made accessible at the top of each page. Very few english contributions though Large donation The danish asassociation of astrology practitioners - Dansk Astrologforening - was dissolved in april this year after 27 years of existance. The library of the association was kindly donated to the Museum. In memoriam The danish astrologer, Odile Scharbau, died at the age of 73 on January 19th, 2005. She was clearminded, active and with a keen interest in astrology to the end. Her data has been added to the memorial pages |
